Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev chaired a meeting in Moscow of the Organizing Committee in charge of preparing for and holding the first International Transport and Logistics Forum. The event was attended by representatives of federal ministries and agencies, CEOs of major transport companies, as well as key experts and partners.
The first International Transport and Logistics Forum will take place in spring 2026 in St. Petersburg and become the largest industry event of its kind in Russia. The Forum, which is expected to become an annual event, will provide an opportunity for the government, business, and international partners to build an open, constructive, and mutually beneficial dialogue. Tavrichesky Palace will host the Forum.
“Today, Russia is actively creating its own network of routes and logistical solutions that are capable of connecting key regions of Eurasia. The Forum in St. Petersburg is an opportunity to bring together those who determine the future of the transport industry – the government, business, and international partners – on a single platform for the first time. The main goal is not just to exchange opinions, but to come up with practical mechanisms that will help us stay one step ahead,” Savelyev said.
The Forum will focus on discussing issues concerning global connectivity and the development of international transport corridors, including the International North–South Transport Corridor, and strengthening integration ties within international economic unions and associations such as the Union State, EAEU, CIS, SCO, and BRICS. The programme will also include discussions on transport education, as well as bilateral meetings and intercountry dialogues.
“The transport industry is a strategically important component of the global economy that ensures the connectivity of markets and the sustainability of global processes. With the transformation of international routes and changes in cargo flow patterns, the creation of sustainable and safe transport and logistics chains is of paramount importance. The International Transport and Logistics Forum aims to come up with coordinated approaches to the further development of the industry and strengthen international cooperation in the new geo-economic conditions,” Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
The first International Transport and Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg will symbolize the openness and technological leadership of the Russian transport industry and provide a platform for creating a new logic behind international cooperation and sustainable development.
The Forum will be held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The Roscongress Foundation will manage the Forum.
